Taco Fiesta Valentine

Taco Fiesta

Taco Fiesta

My husbands favorite valentine punchline that he still remembers from the 3rd grade, is "Won't you peas be my podner".....  ha ha ha!  I don't have any stamp sets with peas, but I thought it would be fun to make some valentines out of some of my other stamp sets that were no valentine specific. This spicy little Valentine is extra fun because is has floating strips across the back!  So much fun!  The strips are adhered to a window sheet to create the floating effect.  I totally could have used the cactus or the tacos for the front of this valentine..... I love the peppers.

Cutting instructions:

  • Card base: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at. 4 1/4".  This is a top fold card.
  • Window sheet: 3 3/4" x 5"
  • 4 strips of 1/2" x 5" - these will be stamped on
  • 4 strips of 1/4" x 5"
  • Focal point matte layer: 2 1/4" x 2 1/4"
  • Focal point: 2" x 2"
  • Scrap to stamp and fussy cut 2 peppers
  • Scrap to stamp and punch 2 small hearts
  • Sentiment: strip cut 3/8" x 2"
  • Inner matte layer: 3 3/4" x 5"
  • Inner message liner: 3 1/2" x 4 3/4"
Assembly instructions:
  • Using bone folder, burnish score line
  • Using Real Red ink, stamp Happy Valentines Day across all 4 pcs of 1/2" x 5" strips
  • Adhere 1/2" and 1/4" strips to window sheet, alternating sizes.  Adhere to front of card base using dimensionals to create the floating effect.
  • Using Tuxedo Black Memento ink, stamp pepper on silicon craft sheet and apply paper to achieve reverse image.  This is how I have 2 peppers curling 2 different directions.  Stamp another pepper directly on cardstock.  Color using Poppy Parade and Granny Apple Green Stampin Blends.  Fussy cut.
  • Using Poppy Parade ink, stamp two small hearts.  Punch.
  • Using Tuxedo Black ink, stamp sentiment.
  • Arrange focal point on 2" x 2" using dimensionals.  Adhere to matte layer.  Adhere to card front.
  • Stamp image and stentiment on inner message liner.  Adhere to inner matte layer.  Adhere to inner card base.
