Snow Wonder - Front view

Snow Wonder - detail view

Today I am participating in the Share it Sunday Blog Hop.  If you enjoy being inspired both other, I highly encourage you to check out the list of live links below.  This list allows you to basically hop from one blog to another.  The theme is what ever project that is currently in the works.

I am in love with the Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper "In Good Taste".  Specifically, I am attracted to the wood grain prints.  I usually gravitate towards the darker wood grains, but today I had the idea to stamp directly onto the DSP so I chose the lightest wood grain color.

Not only do I love the wood grain prints, but I REALLY LOVE the snowman in the Snow Wonder stamp set.  So I combined the two.  I'm very happy with the end result.

The details:

  • Cardbase - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", and tonal mat (under the DSP) is 5 1/4" x 4"
  • DSP: 5 1/8" x 3 7/8'
  • Inner card insert: 5 1/4" x 4"
  • Card is tent folded
  • 1 tree has 1 layer of dimensionals
  • The snowman has 2 layers of dimensions
  • The snowflakes are stamped off one time before stamping on the card front.
  • I used the White Chalk Marker to subtly enhance the snow on the trees.

Heartfelt Wishes Holiday card

Heartfelt Wishes card front

Heartfelt Wishes focal detail

Heartfelt Wishes detail view

The theme for the this months Ink and Inspiration Blog Hop is "use your stash".  So this card was created completely with scraps. I really enjoyed blending my elements to create this card.  Below is a list of live links so that you can hop from one blog to another.  We all followed the same theme, so how much fun to see how each person interpreted the theme!.

The details
  • This is a side fold card
  • The DSP wood print is mounted on an Evening Evergreen mat layer, and that layer is popped up on dimensionals from the card base.
  • I used adhesive sheet to adhere the cork paper and a layer of Evening Evergreen cardstock before die cutting out the star.  The star is popped up on dimensionals.
  • The Real Red Stampin' Blends, easily colored the Black and White Gingham ribbon.  After it dries, the ribbon has a bit more body which I really like.
  • The greenery and red berries are die cuts from the Christmas Trimmings Dies.
  • After stamping the sentiment, I banner punched the ends then used a bone folder to create fluidity in the banner.  This was attached with mini glue dots.
