I had so much fun making these cards!!  John and I love tulips.  So much so that I carried them during our wedding ceremony!  Tulips are definitely our love flower.

To create these cards I used the Tulip Fields bundle from the Stampin' Up!® January - June mini catalog.

The cutting and assembly instructions for both cards, are listed after the YouTube tutorial.  The product links are listed at the end of the post.

Here is the video tutorial for both cards.

Here are the cutting and assembly instructions for the Tulip Fields Thank You Card with the large windmill:

  • Card base: 4 1/4" x 11".  Score at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2".  Fold in half at 5 1/2" and fold in opposite direction at the 2 3/4" mark (creating a z-fold)
  • DSP: 2 pcs: 2 1/2" H x 4" W, 1 pc 5 1/4" H x 4" W.  See video for placement
  • Z-fold colored matte layer: 10" x 2 3/4".  See video for how to adhere in proper placement
  • Front focal layer Basic White: 4 1/2" x 2 1/2"
  • Stamp tulip field, after marking where you want the base of the Windmill to sit.
  • Using the cloud silhouette from the Basic Borders Dies, die cut a cloud template.  Starting at horizon line, place template, and use blending brush to create clouds.  I find it works best to start at the horizon and work my way up.  See YouTube demonstration.
  • Stamp tree
  • Die cut Crumbcake layer of the Windmill.  Using blending brush, add Crumbcake ink to the crumbcake layer at the outer edges.
  • Apply adhesive sheets to Early Espresso cardstock.  Die cut Early Espresso Windmill and bicycle pcs.  Windmill blades have no need for the adhesive sheets, so don't waste them on this pc.
  • Using Early Espresso Stampin' Blends, or SU100 Stampin' Blend, color a white round brad.
  • Use sharp point to pierce windmill.  Attach blades to front of windmill.
  • Apply windmill to focal layer using dimensionals.
  • Apply card front to matte layer.
  • Peal off backing of adhesive from bike, and apply to card front.
  • Middle card layer (I used this for the message area) Basic White: 2 1/2" x 2 1/2".  Stamp with border stamp. Adhere centered.
  • Inner sentiment layer: 2 1/4" x 2 1/2".  Stamp sentiment.  Adhere.

Here are the cutting and assembly instructions for the Tulip Fields Thinking of You card with the small windmill:

  • Basic White Thick cardstock for cardbase: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2".  Score at 4 1/4".  This is a side fold card.
  • Colored cardstock matte layers (front and inner cards)  4" x 5 1/4"
  • Basic White cardstock, use the Stitched Rectangle Dies to create front window frame. Outer dimension is 3 3/8" x 4 3/4".  Inner dimension 2 5/8" x 4".
  • Using the inner cut away from last step, stamp tulip rows.
  • Using the cloud silhouette from the Basic Borders Dies, die cut a cloud template.  Starting at horizon line, place template, and use blending brush to create clouds.  I find it works best to start at the horizon and work my way up.  See YouTube demonstration.
  • Stamp trees on horizon line
  • Using scrap of Basic White cardstock stamp windmill.  Color in using Crumbcake Stampin' Blends. Die cut.  Apply with dimensionals
  • Apply Basic White frame to colored matte layer using dimensionals.  Center top to bottom and side to side.
  • Apply adhesive to focal layer, and position inside frame.  I use multipurpose adhesive to I have time to wiggle it into place.
  • Die cut bicycle.  Adhere to frame
  • Apply Brushed Brass Butterflies to card front
  • Inner card matte layer, adhere to inner card.
  • On inner message layer, use the same cloud silhouette to create light clouds on upper half of this layer. Starting at horizon line, place template, and use blending brush to create clouds.  I find it works best to start at the horizon and work my way up.  See YouTube demonstration.
  • Stamp sentiment and tree
  • Adhere this layer to the colored matte.
