Rejoice Stamp Set + Everyday Arches Dies

Today's monochromatic Insta Hop featured color is Lost Lagoon. I've selected the Rejoice stamp set to show off this lovely color. I did not have a specific plan when I started this card, but I am thrilled with how it turned out.

To create the star, I stamped with versamark ink, on the white card base, and used clear embossing powder which was heat set. Then I went over the star with Lost Lagoon ink on a blending brush. I added a single rhinestone to the center.

Blending brush with Lost Lagoon ink was used to create the subtle darkness around the focal point, with a white glow being left around the immediate focal point. I used a straight scrap of card stock to help me create the subtle light shining down from the northern star.

For the inside of the card, I used the same technique to create the starry sky. The message liner was white, I stamped in versamark and heat set clear embossing powder on it. I then used the blending brush with Lost Lagoon ink to shade the sky so that the stars would emerge.

A sentiment and an image of Bethlehem finish off the interior.

Cutting Instructions:

Card base - Basic White Thick: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
Front matte layer - Lost Lagoon: 3 3/4" x 5", Use third largest arch to die cut.
Focal point layer - Basic White: 3 1/4" x 4 1/2", Use fourth largest arch to die cut.
Sentiment - Basic White: scrap
Inner matte layer - Lost Lagoon: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2", Use largest arch to die cut.
Inner message liner - Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4", Use second largest arch to die cut.

Assembly Instructions:

Using versamark ink, stamp the large star in the upper left corner of the front card base. Coat with clear embossing powder and heat set.
Using Lost Lagoon ink and a blending brush, add ink to the first couple of inches at the top of the front card base. The ink does not need to be saturated, but should be dark enough for the star to emerge.
Using Basic Gray ink, stamp the nativity scene on the focal point layer. Color the nativity scene using Stampin' Blends. I used Lost Lagoon for the robes, Lemon Lolly for the hay, and Pecan pie for the hair and manger.
Using Lost Lagoon ink and a blending brush, add shadow around the focal point, being careful to keep the immediate area around the nativity white. I used a scrap of card stock to keep the area nearest the star lighter, so that it looks like a subtle ray of light coming from the star, shining down on the nativity.
Adhere focal point layer to the front matte layer. Adhere to the card front using dimensionals.
Using the Stampin' Positioner, stamp sentiment with Lost Lagoon ink on Basic White scrap. Clean stamp without removing it from the positioner plate. Using Versamark ink, stamp sentiment again right on top of the first stamp. Coat in clear embossing powder and heat set. Fussy cut then adhere to focal point using dimensionals.
Adhere a small rhinestone to center of the star.
Using Versamark ink, stamp stars on upper arch of inner message liner. Coat in clear embossing powder and heat set.
Using Lost Lagoon ink and a blending brush, apply ink over the embossed stars and around the perimeter of the message liner. Like the front of the card, the ink does not need to be saturated..... just dark enough for the stars to emerge.
Using Lost Lagoon ink, stamp sentiment on liner and image of Bethlehem on lower right corner. Adhere liner to inner matte layer. Adhere to inner card base.
