Quilted Thank You Card

Perennial Lavender DSP + Eyelet Embossing + Lovely Arrangements Stamp Set

The Crafty Collaborations Technique Tuesday Blog Hop challenge was to use embossing folders. I love embossing on a quilt square, so this was an easy design decision for me.

You could overlap your pieces to create this same look, but I cut and pieced mine. Those sharp corners are created by layering a square on each corner before embossing.

Cutting Instructions:

Card base - Basic White Thick: 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2"
Front matte layer - Gorgeous Grape: 3 3/4" x 3 3/4"
Focal point layer - Basic White: 3 1/2" x 3 1/2"
Focal point DSP strips - 4 coordinating DSP's: 3/4" x 6"
Corner squares - Basic White: 1 1/16" x 1 1/16"
Inner matte layer - Gorgeous Grape: 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"
Inner message liner - Basic White: 3 3/4" x 5"
Inner DSP strips - 2 coordinating DSP's: 1/2" x 2 3/4"

Assembly Instructions:

Using a pencil, draw an X from corner to corner of the Basic White focal point layer.
Cut each of the focal point DSP's int 3" lengths. Align one of each at the center point and adhere. The strips will extend beyond the edge of the square. Take the remaining 3" strips and align as though the strips are woven, and adhere. Turn square over and cut off excess DSP strips.
Adhere the 4 Basic White square at each corner. This should create the mitered appearance.
Emboss the focal point. Adhere to matte layer. Adhere to front of card base using dimensionals.
Using Pretty Peacock ink, stamp sentiment on lower right corner.
Trim inner DSP strips so that they appear mitered. Adhere to inner message liner. Adhere to inner matte layer. Adhere to inner card base.
