Flowering Tulips and Daffodil Daydream - Birthday Card |
Flowering Tulips and Daffodil Daydream - detail view |
I've said it before and I will say it again..... I love flowers! They make me happy in so many ways.
Daffodils and tulips bring back great memories from my childhood, when I would pick flowers in the alley near our home, and leave them on neighbors front steps wrapped in newspaper cones.
Then again as an adult, I used daffodils and tulips in our wedding decor and bouquets. Whites, yellows, and purples were our colors on that day, and today this card just plain makes me smile.
Here are the cutting details:
- Basic White Thick cardstock: 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2". This is a top fold card
- Basic Gray matte layers: 2 pcs - 4" x 5 1/4" (one on card front and one inner card)
- Basic White message layer: 1 pc - 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"
- DSP: 1 pc- 1 7/8" x 5 1/8"
- Basic White to be embossed - 1 7/8" x 5 3/16" (this will shrink when embossed, but may still need to be trimmed to align with the DSP)
- Daffodil Delight to cut Daffodils (apply adhesive sheet to back of card stock for just the detail dies)
- Basic White for Daffodil petals (apply adhesive sheet to back of card stock just for the detail dies)
- Highland heather for the tulips
- Pear Pizzazz for the daffodil stems and leaves
- Garden Green for the tulip stems and leaves (stamp the leaves prior to die cutting)
- Basic White for sentiment label
Additional info:
- Adhere DSP and embossed pc next to each other to create card front.
- Using blending brush, apply Pear Pizzazz to center of card front
- Using the "grunge" stamp from Daffodil Daydream stamp Basic Gray so that some dots will be visible after flowers arranged.
- Use sponge dauber to apply Daffodil Delight ink to detail die cut outs for daffodils
- Please adhesive backer off of daffodil detail die cuts and align on corresponding cut outs
- Use mini glue dots to layer petals and flower head
- Use sponge dauber to apply Highland Heather ink from base of tulip and up.
- Use mini glue dots to assemble tulip heads
- Lay out your general flower arrangement, then start adhering stems and flowers. I adhered some flowers flat to the card front, and other had one, two or three layers of dimensionals to create depth to the bouquet.
- Finish with leaves (I applied a mini glue dot to the bottom of the leaf, and a dimensional higher up)
- Stamp sentiment and apply with dimensionals
- Add bow and embellishments as desired.
