Great Tidings - Christmas Card

Great Tidings

I colored the Be Dazzling Specialty Paper

Inner Card

Sometimes a mistake turns into a "happy accident"  That is the case with this card.  I didn't mean to order the Great Tidings stamp set, I entered a typo and didn't catch it when I placed my order.  I didn't order the dies..... just the stamp set.  I thought it was nice, but I wasn't in a hurry to get it..... I didn't have a design in mind.

In the same order, I earned some free Sale A Bration product and one of those items was the Be Dazzling Specialty Paper.  Shortly after I received my order, I saw a short article where someone had colored their specialty paper.  Well, I immediately thought that it would make a beautiful sky for the Three Wise Men.  So my idea was born.......

I started with one pc of 6" x 6" specialty paper to experiment with adding ink to it.  Now that I know more about it, in the future I will cut my paper down before adding the ink.  I used a blending brush to add color starting from the bottom and blending to the top.  I used Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, Blackberry Bliss, and Night of Navy.

I stamped the Three Wise Men with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, and used Stampin' Blender pens to color them.  I fussy cut them out (remember I didn't order the dies).  I then used a Basic Black Stampin' Write marker to cover the white cut sides, which gives a bit of a more distinct edge to the Kings.  I highlighted with Wink of Stella on the robes, and Crystal Shimmer effects on the crowns and gifts.

I used Gold heat embossing powder for the sentiment as well as the star.  I fussy cut the star, and then added Wink of Stella around the star for added sparkle.

The sand is Gold foil, which paired extremely well with the Be Dazzling specialty paper.
The product details are listed below.

I hope my "happy accident" is an inspiration for your use of either this specialty paper or the Great Tidings stamp set.

Sale a Bration is going on now, and with a $50 purchase you can get a package of this specialty paper for free.  There are 8 sheets of 6"x 6" in a package.

Stay safe and be well,
Hugs,
Teah
