Prairie Grass - Blueberry Bushel

Prairie Grass + Peaceful Pier

My Prairie Grass stamp set just arrived yesterday, and I couldn't wait to use it!  I was just as excited to use the sentiment from the Peaceful Pier stamp set, which also just arrived yesterday!

Sentiment from Peaceful Pier

I know that this sentiment will be use a lot!  John and I pray for our family, friends, and country every single day..... so this sentiment means so much to me.

This weeks Monochromatic Insta Hop color challenge

Prairie Grass + Peaceful Pier

I used a punched circle to create the moon, used a blending brush to apply the Blueberry Bushel ink on white cardstock, then stamped the Prairie Grass using Secret Sea.  It really doesn't get much easier than this.  It would be lovely to apply layers of sunset colors in place of the blue.  So many options!

Prairie Grass

Dressing up the inside of the card is important to me for every card, so I just had to add a bit of the grass on the inside too!

Cutting Instructions:
  • Card base - Blueberry Bushel: 4-1/4" x 11", scored at 5-1/2".  This is a top fold card.
  • Front matte layer - Basic White: 3-7/8" x 5-1/8"
  • Card front layer - Basic White: 3-3/4" x 5"
  • Circle for moon- Any color: Punch 1 circle
  • Sentiment matte layer - Basic White: 1-1/8" x 1-3/8"
  • Sentiment layer- Basic White: 1" x 1-1/4"
  • Inner message liner - Basic White: 3-3/4" x 5"
Assembly Instructions:
  • Place circle for moon placement on card front (I held mine in place with a looped pc of post-it tape).  Using Blueberry Bushel ink and a blending brush, apply ink to card front.  I chose to go darker around the perimeter of the card front, and lighter around the masked off moon.  Remove circle.
  • Using Secret Sea ink, stamp Prairie Grass.
  • Adhere card front to front matte layer.  Adhere to front of card base using dimensionals.
  • Using Blueberry Bushel ink and blending brush, cover the sentiment layer.  Using Versamark ink, stamp sentiment.  Coat in Embossing powder and heat set.  Adhere to sentiment matte layer.  Adhere to card front using dimensionals.
  • Using Blueberry Bushel ink and blending brush, apply ink to lower left corner of inner message liner.  Using Secret Sea ink, stamp a small section of Prairie Grass.  Adhere to inner card base.
I hope you have been inspired to try out this tutorial!

Perfectly Pears - Pecan Pie

Perfectly Pears

This weeks Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Insta Hop challenge featured Pecan Pie.  I immediately knew I wanted to do a vintage looking, card style.   I love how this turned out looking like a type of Sepia tone.  You can find my original post HERE.  Be sure to check out the list for everyone's projects and extra inspiration.

Perfectly Pears - detail view

The details were just so easy to pull together!  Warning, I did get inky, but I love to get my hands deep into a project.   I used a blending brush to apply Pecan Pie to Very Vanilla cardstock, which creates that warm halo.  The Pear stamps were just perfect!

Sunflowers 3D Embossing Folder

I used blender pens and ink to create this rich look.  It is so easy, and for me it was therapeutic.  I hope you are inspired to make this card.  The instructions to create this card are below, and you will find the products list at the end of the post.

Assembly instructions:
  • Using bone folder, burnish score line well.
  • Adhere embossed horizontal strip to front of card base.
  • Using Blender pen, apply Whisper White craft ink to flower petals on embossed card front layer.
  • Using Blender pen, apply Pecan Pie ink to flower centers on embossed card front layer.
  • Using Blender pen, apply Shaded Spruce ink to leaves and stems on embossed card front layer.
  • Using a water painter, I mixed some Whisper White craft ink with water.  Then I picked up the watery ink with the bristles from the water painter and tapped it on my finger to create the flicks of white across the card front layer.  Let dry before for a couple of minutes to avoid smudging.
  • Adhere embossed card front layer to matte layer.  Adhere to front of cardbase, centered over embossed horizontal strip.
  • Using embossing buddy, remove static from your scrap of cardstock for sentiment. Using Versamark ink, stamp sentiment.  Apply White embossing powder then gently tap edge of cardstock to remove excess powder.  Using Heat tool, heat set powder.  Fussy cut around sentiment.  Adhere to card front using dimensionals.
  • Using rolled up mini glue dots, apply Tiny Bee Trinkets on card front.
  • Adhere embossed strip to lower edge of inner message liner.  Adhere to inner matte layer.  Adhere to inner card base.
