Simply Leaves in Crumb Cake

Crumb Cake is this weeks Monochromatic Insta Hop color. I distressed the leaves a bit by running the edge of my scissors along the outer edge. I used a sponge dauber to add ink to the leaves, then I also used a sponge dauber to apply Crumb Cake ink on the embossed leaves.

I really love the Textured Tree Ring Embossed layer. I didn't need to add color to it in order for it to coordinate with the leaves. A sweet detail. All the product details are listed with live links at the end of this post.

Cutting Instructions:

Card base - Basic White: 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2". The fold line is on the left.
Front matte layer - Crumb Cake: 4" x 5 1/4"
Center card front layer - Basic White: 2 3/8" x 5 1/8". This layer is embossed.
Top and bottom card front strips - Crumb Cake: 3/4" x 5 1/8"(cut 2 strips). These are embossed.
Leaves - Crumb Cake: 3" x 6", punch 3 leaves.
Sentiment label - Basic White: 3/4" x 2 3/8"
Inner matte layer - Crumb Cake: 4" x 5 1/4"
Inner message liner - Basic White: 3 3/4" x 5"
Linen Thread: 18"

Assembly Instructions:

Using Crumb Cake ink and a sponge dauber, apply ink to the leaves on the embossed top & bottom card front strips. Adhere first crumb cake strip to front matte layer. Adhere the white center embossed layer, butted up to the first crumb cake strip. Then adhere the 2nd crumb cake strip.
Wrap linen thread above the lower crumb cake strip, attaching ends on the back with tape.
Adhere matted card front to front of card base using dimensionals.
Using Crumb Cake ink, stamp inner leaf veins on punched leaves. Using Crumb Cake ink and a sponge dauber, add ink to the edges of the leaves. Using the side of a pair of scissors, rough up the edges of the leaves (wrinkling is ok to). Add more ink with the sponge dauber if necessary. Adhere leaves to the left side of the card front with the stems over the linen thread. I used mini glue dots.
Using Crumb Cake thread, stamp sentiment on label. Banner cut the right end. Adhere to card front using dimensionals.
Adhere bow using mini glue dots.
Scatter dots on card front.
Using Crumb Cake ink, stamp leaves in corners of inner message liner. Adhere liner to inner matte layer. Adhere to inner card base.
