When Stampin' Up!® announced the new (and returning) colors, I instantly fell in love with Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst together.  I couldn't wait to use them together!  I created this card to add to each of my catalog packets for my customers.   Sometimes, you just want to see the actual paper and ink in action.   I love this light-hearted card design.   The fold is a "stable door" fold.

I am writing this blog post prior to the new catalog release so the following items don't have links yet.  They will be available starting May 2nd.

Seasonal Branches - Anniversary Card

Seasonal Branches - card front and envelope
Seasonal Branches - inner view

Seasonal Branches - detail view

Every year, when it is time to make an anniversary card for my husband, I run into a challenge.  John isn't a fan of fancy cards, or lots of layers.  I also try very hard to find a stamp set that represents something about us.... our relationship.... or a memory.  This year, I focused on the cherry blossoms that were in bloom the day of our wedding.  And those blossoming trees were set off all the more by the blue sky and puffy white clouds that day.  It was beautiful day filled with the blessings of love, family and friends.

For this years card, I chose to use the Seasonal Branches bundle from the new Annual Catalog.  I can't create a link to the bundle until it goes live in early May, so I will provide the items #'s for all new products below the cutting instructions.  This bundle was incredibly easy to use and I know for a fact I will be using it again throughout the seasons!  I used 2 other stamp sets for the outer and inner sentiments (find that info listed at the end of this post)

Cutting Instructions
  • Card Base: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
  • Card Front: 5 1/4" x 4"
  • Basic White scrap to die cut 15 flowers and 25 leaves.
  • Scrap to die cut cloud silhouette

Instructions
  • Using Blending Brushes, apply ink colors Bubble Bath, Berry Burst and Melon Mambo to scrap of Basic White cardstock prior to die cutting flowers
  • Using Blending Brushes, apply ink colors Lemon Lime Twist and Granny Apple Green to scrap of Basic White cardstock prior to die cutting leaves
  • Use ink color Balmy Blue with blending brush and cloud die silhouette to create clouds on top 2/3 of card front, inner card base upper left right and front of envelope.
  • Use ink color Pecan Pie to stamp branches to card front, over the clouds.
  • Use ink color Pecan Pie to stamp sentiment to card front.
  • Use ink color Pecan Pie to stamp sentiment to inner card base.
  • Use a rounded tool (I use the cap of my Take Your Pick Tool), to push end the center of the flowers creating a "lift" on the petals.
  • Use the Melon Mambo Stampin' Write Marker to create 4-5 dots in the center of each flower.
  • Use mini glue dots to attach 14 flowers to card front and 1 to bottom of inner card
  • Use multipurpose adhesive to adhere leaves under flowers, card front and inner card.
Products from the new catalog that will go live on May 2nd:
  • Seasonal Branches bundle: 161358
  • Pecan Pie ink pad: 161665
  • Bubble Bath ink pad: 161664
  • Berry Burst ink pad: 147143
I hope you enjoy this project as much as I did making it.
