Remembering Velma with Prized Peony

Some years ago, my friend Velma, grew the most amazing peonies!  I absolutely loved them when the morning dew glistened on them, or when they stood out proud and happy against a bright blue sky.  There were several flower beds of these peonies, and my daughters and I though they were the most romantic flower ever.  As our friend aged and she needed to move, I was given the opportunity to collect some of the peonies and plant them in my garden.  Eventually, as my daughters had their own homes, they received their share of the peonies as well.

Those peonies were the inspiration for this card.  When the new 2021-2023 In- Colors were introduced, I knew immediately that Polished Pink was going to make a PERFECT match to those peonies that I loved so much.  The Polished Pink ink will be available to purchase on May 4th.  Everything else is current product available for purchase now.

Here are the details to help you recreate this card:
  • This card is a standard 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" with a top fold.
  • DSP is 4" x 5 1/4" - Hint: I used daubers and Early Espresso ink to cover the white cut edge of the paper
  • I used regular weight Basic White card stock for the flowers
  • I cut apart 1vellum doily as a nod to the lace doilies that Velma had throughout her home.
The links for the supplies used to create this card are at the end of this post.

Pretty Perennials - Happy Mail

Pretty Perennials Thank You card

I love Daffodil Yellow and Granite Grey together!.  Pair that combo with Basic white, and the colors look fresh and well balanced.

With Spring officially here, I chose bright happy flowers for my customers Thank you card this month.  My latest card features Pretty Perennials Stamp and Die bundle from the January - June Mini catalog.
This card oozes texture!  Starting with the white layer textured with the Tasteful Texture embossing folder, then a side strip of Grey Granite textured with one of the Greenery embossing folders.
Follow up with layers of die cut leaves, 2 layers of flowers and finish up with the Matte Black Dots!
I fussy cut the "happy" as well as the "mail".  Flowers and sentiments are popped up with dimensionals.

I am participating in a Blog Hop associated with a Demonstrator training program that I am enrolled in.    Please take the time to be inspired by each of these demonstrators that have shared their work this month, by clicking on the links in this list.  Enjoy!

Art Gallery Thank You card

Art Gallery Thank You Card

Both my husband and I love flowers.  John will buy 3-4 bundles of flowers and bring them home for me to arrange in a favorite vase.  I loved finding the focal point and setting the vase "just so".  For this card, I loved arranging the florals.... but the focal point, is the "Thank You".

I have been blessed with the absolutely best customers!  and I really love to send them Thank you cards.

Let me tell you a little about this card:
Base is Basic White 4 1/4" x 11" scored at 5 1/2"
the embossed layer is 4" x 5 1/4"
I used stitched layers dies for the two circles
I used 3 sets of the same die cut flower arrangement, and cut them apart to create this layout.
Then I generously applied the Artistry bloom sequins.
