Great Tidings - Christmas Card

Great Tidings

I colored the Be Dazzling Specialty Paper

Inner Card

Sometimes a mistake turns into a "happy accident"  That is the case with this card.  I didn't mean to order the Great Tidings stamp set, I entered a typo and didn't catch it when I placed my order.  I didn't order the dies..... just the stamp set.  I thought it was nice, but I wasn't in a hurry to get it..... I didn't have a design in mind.

In the same order, I earned some free Sale A Bration product and one of those items was the Be Dazzling Specialty Paper.  Shortly after I received my order, I saw a short article where someone had colored their specialty paper.  Well, I immediately thought that it would make a beautiful sky for the Three Wise Men.  So my idea was born.......

I started with one pc of 6" x 6" specialty paper to experiment with adding ink to it.  Now that I know more about it, in the future I will cut my paper down before adding the ink.  I used a blending brush to add color starting from the bottom and blending to the top.  I used Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, Blackberry Bliss, and Night of Navy.

I stamped the Three Wise Men with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, and used Stampin' Blender pens to color them.  I fussy cut them out (remember I didn't order the dies).  I then used a Basic Black Stampin' Write marker to cover the white cut sides, which gives a bit of a more distinct edge to the Kings.  I highlighted with Wink of Stella on the robes, and Crystal Shimmer effects on the crowns and gifts.

I used Gold heat embossing powder for the sentiment as well as the star.  I fussy cut the star, and then added Wink of Stella around the star for added sparkle.

The sand is Gold foil, which paired extremely well with the Be Dazzling specialty paper.
The product details are listed below.

I hope my "happy accident" is an inspiration for your use of either this specialty paper or the Great Tidings stamp set.

Sale a Bration is going on now, and with a $50 purchase you can get a package of this specialty paper for free.  There are 8 sheets of 6"x 6" in a package.

Stay safe and be well,
Hugs,
Teah

Delicate Dahlias - Thank you card

Delicate Dahlias Thank You card

Love the font in the Delicate Dahlias stamp set

Inside of card and matching envelope

Hello friends!  I hope your summer is going well!  We have been a little bit busy and a little be relaxing.

Now with the ability to meet in person, I am ramping up my Stampin' Up! business.  I held my first in person class last week, and had so much fun with people that I didn't know before.  It was awesome to share my love of stamping and paper crafting in person.  I also shared the same class as a "to go" option, and that went well as well!  This blog will become more active and newsletters will be available.  I do hope you will follow me as I build my small business.  I absolutely love crafting and to share my passion with others brings me real JOY!

Today I made this card using one of the Black and white prints from the Pattern Party DSP pack that is available as a host incentive.  The stamped images and sentiment are from the Delicate Dahlias stamp set that is available for free with a $50 purchase during Sale A Bration, now through the end of Sept.

This card is a standard 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" finished size.  It was quick and easy to make with the heat embossing of the large Dahlia and the sentiment taking the most time.  See below for measurements and product details at the bottom of the post.

Card base: 4 1/4" x 11" scored at 5 1/2"   This is a side fold card

Daffodil Delight Mat: 1 pcs 4"x 5 1/4" (1 inner, 1 outer)

DSP: 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"

Daffodil Delight card front: 3 7/8" x 3 5/8"

Basic White: 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"

Stay safe and be well,

Penguin Playmates Holiday Card

Playful Penguins Holiday Card

Playful Penguins - Fussy cut Bear

Sale A-Bration Blog Hop

Its a super special time of year when Sale A-Bration is taking place!  Free select product with qualifying purchases.  A very popular time indeed!  This blog hop is specific to the products that you can get for free during this promotion. Please be sure to check out the list of blogs listed below to see some inspiring ideas on how to use this free product.

I chose to focus on the Penguin Playmates DSP.  Now this paper coordinates with the Penguin Place Bundle....... But I don't have the bundle.  I just have this cute paper.  The paper has enough personality to stand on its own.  I used two of the 12 available prints for the card front and inner card.  Then I fussy cut the bear out of a 3rd print.  A circle die cut of vellum behind the bear to give him a bit of lift off the page, and a banner in his hands wishing the receiver "Cheers".

On the inside of the card, I used Fresh Freesia to mimic the snowflakes on the DSP.  Then I used Just Jade for the "Let it Snow" sentiment.  Full product details can be found at the end of this blog.

My goal is to show you that you can be very cost effective with minimal effort, if the paper is as cute as this set is.

Please check out these fellow bloggers for additional inspiration.
