Perfectly Pears |
This weeks Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Insta Hop challenge featured Pecan Pie. I immediately knew I wanted to do a vintage looking, card style. I love how this turned out looking like a type of Sepia tone. You can find my original post HERE. Be sure to check out the list for everyone's projects and extra inspiration.

Perfectly Pears - detail view |
The details were just so easy to pull together! Warning, I did get inky, but I love to get my hands deep into a project. I used a blending brush to apply Pecan Pie to Very Vanilla cardstock, which creates that warm halo. The Pear stamps were just perfect!

Cutting instructions:
- Card base - Pecan Pie: 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2". This is a side fold card.
- Matte layer - Very Vanilla: 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"
- Postage stamp layer - Pecan Pie: 4" x 5 1/4", die cut using largest die.
- Card front - Very Vanilla: 3 1/2" x 4 3/4"
- Sentiment label: 5/8" x 1 5/8"
- Inner message liner - Very Vanilla: 3 1/2" x 4 3/4", die cut using 2nd largest die.
Assembly instructions:
- Using Pecan Pie ink and blending brush, apply ink to perimeter of front matte layer and front postage stamp layer. Adhere postage stamp layer to matte layer.
- Using Pecan Pie ink and blending brush, apply ink to card front layer with lightest in the center and darkest around the edges.
- Using Pecan Pie ink, stamp Pears, stems and leaves. I used a post it note to create a mask for the pear on the right so that when I stamped the pear on the left there is no visible overlap.
- Using Pecan Pie ink, stamp off once when using the grunge stamp around the perimeter of the card front. Adhere card front to postage stamp layer.
- Adhere matted card front to front of card base using dimensionals.
- Using Pecan Pie ink and a blending brush, apply ink to sentiment label. Using Early Espresso ink, stamp sentiment. Add grunge in Pecan Pie if desired (stamp off first). Adhere to card front using dimensionals.
- Using Pecan Pie ink and blending brush, apply ink to perimeter of inner message liner. Stamp grunge if desired (stamp off first). Adhere message liner to inner card base.
