Today I am participating in the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop.  This month is a sketch challenge.


I chose to use the Mediterranean Blooms DSP and Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder for my design.  I am so in love with everything about fresh lemons.  This card pleases my soul today.

Cutting Instructions:
  • Card base: 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2".  This is a top fold card.
  • Embossed layer: 4" x 5 1/4".  I used the backside of the embossed layer as the card front.
  • Small matte layers: 1 7/8" x 1 7/8" (2 pcs)
  • Small DSP layers: 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" (2 pcs)
  • Rectangle matte layer: 2 1/8" x 3"
  • Rectangle DSP layer: 2" x 2 7/8"
  • Sentiment label: 3/8" strip cut
  • Inner matte layer: 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"
  • Inner message liner: 3 3/4" x 5"
  • Inner DSP strip: 3/8" x 5"
  • Linen thread: 18"
Assembly Instructions:
  • Adhere small DSP layers to small matte layers.  Adhere to embossed card front layer.
  • Adhere rectangle DSP layer to rectangle matte layer.  Adhere to embossed card front and overlapping squares.  I used dimensionals.
  • Using Night of Navy ink, stamp sentiment.  Adhere to matted layers using dimensionals.
  • Adhere linen bow using mini glue dots.
  • Scatter gems on card front.
  • Adhere card front to front of card base.  I used dimensionals.
  • Adhere DSP strip to inner message liner.  Adhere to inner matte layer.  Adhere to inner card base.

December Technique challenge - Embossing Folders

I am so happy to be able to participate in this months Technique Tuesday Blog Hop!  This month's challenge is Embossing Folders...... and I am a serious lover of texture, so I LOVE embossing folders!!  Look below my instructions for the list of live links for the participants in this Blog Hop.  You will surely be inspired, so be sure to check them all out!

Cutting Instructions:
  • Card base - Basic White Thick: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4".  This is a side fold card.
  • Front matte layer - Basic Black:  5 1/8" x 3 7/8" 
  • Front left panel - Cherry Cobbler: 5" x 1" - Embossed with Forever Plaid Embossing Folder
  • Front right panel - Basic White: 5" x 2 3/4"- Embossed with Snowflake Sky Embossing Folder
  • Tree - Basic White: 4" x 2 3/4"
  • Star - Basic White: scrap
  • Sentiment- Basic White: scrap - die cut using Peaceful Season label die
  • Inner matte layer - Basic Black: 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"
  • Inner message liner - Basic White: 5" x 3 3/4"
  • Inner decorative strip - Cherry Cobbler: 5" x 3/8"
Assembly Instructions
  • Using Bone Folder, burnish scoreline well.
  • Using Brayer, apply Tuxedo Black ink to front side of embossing folder.  Emboss both Cherry Cobbler pcs. 
  • Adhere both Basic White embossed layer and Cherry Cobbler embossed layer to front matte layer.  Adhere to front of card base.
  • Using Mossy Meadow ink, stamp tree using largest tree stamp.  Die cut.  Apply to Basic White embossed layer using dimensionals.
  • Using Wild Wheat ink stamp star.  I stamped off once to create a lighter colored star.  Die cut.  I used Wink of Stella to create a sparkly star.  Adhere at top of tree using dimensionals. 
  • Using Tuxedo Black ink, stamp sentiment on die cut lable.  Adhere to front of tree using dimensionals.
  • Using Tuxedo Black ink, stamp sentiment on inner message liner.  Adhere 3/8" embossed Cherry Cobbler decorative strip on left side of message liner.  Adhere to inner matte layer.  Adhere to inner card base.
